兩內地漢涉不法匯兌被捕
2024年11月13日下午,本局有組織罪案調查處人員於路氹城區一酒店進行針對不法匯兌的巡查打擊行動,期間發現兩名涉案內地男子於酒店餐廳內交收籌碼,其中一名涉案內地男子向一名男客人展示二維碼,對方以手提電話掃碼及操作後,其確認相關人民幣到帳,隨即將5萬港元籌碼交給對方並準備離開。
基於有理由懷有人在娛樂場附屬設施內經營未經批准的不法匯兌,故本局人員立即上前截查,在兩名涉案內地男子身上檢獲與犯罪有關的45萬港元現金、1.7萬港元籌碼以及兩部手提電話,並在客人身上起回涉案的5萬港元籌碼。
本局根據調查所得,以經營為賭博的不法匯兌罪將兩名涉案內地男子移送檢察院偵辦。
Two mainland men nabbed for involvement in illegal currency exchange
On the afternoon of 13th November 2024, personnel of the Organised Crime Division of the Judiciary Police conducted a patrolling and combatting operation against illegal currency exchange inside a hotel in the Cotai district. During the course, two involved mainland men were found to be handing over chips inside a restaurant of the hotel. One of the involved mainland men presented a QR Code to a male patron. Upon scanning the code with his mobile phone as well as operating on the phone by the other party, he confirmed that the relevant amount in RMB had been credited to the account. He then handed HKD50,000 worth of chips to the other party in no time and was about to leave.
Given that there were grounds to suspect that someone had engaged in unauthorised illegal currency exchange inside the auxiliary facility of the casino, personnel of the Judiciary Police immediately stepped forward to intercept and investigate. HKD450,000 in cash, HKD17,000 worth of chips and two mobile phones, which were in connection with the crime, were seized from the two involved mainland men. In addition, the involved HKD50,000 worth of chips were recovered from the patron.
Based on investigative findings, the Judiciary Police transferred the two involved mainland men to the Public Prosecutions Office for the offence of operating illegal currency exchange for gambling.

Na tarde de 13 de Novembro de 2024, o pessoal da Divisão de Investigação e Combate ao Banditismo efectuou, num casino do Cotai, uma rusga que tinha como alvo o câmbio ilegal, durante a operação percebeu que num restaurante dois homens da China continental estavam a fazer uma transacção com fichas de jogo, um deles mostrou a um cliente um código de QR, este último passou o código ao scanner do telemóvel e fez algumas operações, quando o primeiro homem confirmou que os RNB tinham chegado à sua conta, entregou ao outro 50.000 HKD em fichas e depois foram-se embora.
Como havia fundadas razões para suspeitar que se tratava de câmbio ilegal explorado nas instalações auxiliares do casino, os nossos agentes interceptarm as pessoas e apreenderam, na posse dos dois homens, 450.000 HKD, 17.000 HKD em fichas e dois telemóveis, todos supostamente envolvidos no crime, também foram encontradas na posse do cliente os 50.000 HKD em fichas.
Conforme apurado na investigação, o detidos foram presente ao MP por exploração de câmbio ilícito para jogo.
